What are other details of experiences, work or otherwise, that have led you to your current work?

Growing up as a self-taught artist with a background in fashion, I pursued graphic design at LASALLE to gain broader perspectives and incorporate new methods and techniques into my work. Since then, I have built a diverse body of creative work spanning art, photography, videography, and design—skills I have learned and mastered throughout my personal and professional journey.

By making the most of social media platforms, I regularly showcase my own digital content, photography, and fashion styling alongside my modelling. This serves as a means of expressing my identity and documenting my journey towards discovering my true colours, while ensuring that my practices spark conversations and challenge the gender roles imposed by society. Along the way, I have gained a broad understanding of working in media, agencies, publishing, and even a law firm. However, all of these experiences have led me to focus on honing my craft, refining my art, and embracing my creativity, allowing me to fully express myself through the personal work I truly enjoy.

How would you describe your practice?

I am an all-round content creator, covering directing, producing, styling, photographing/filming, post-production, and publishing. I have always been drawn to the method of self-portraiture, often using myself as the subject. However, over time, I have shifted towards producing ideas and executing them with specific subjects that come to mind—or collaborating with those who reach out to me, seeking content that aligns with my experimental and otherworldly style. All of my work is created under the alias Hastings Pictures.

What are the highlight projects in your career so far?

The LENSKART x Aisyah Aziz campaign, which I art-directed, shot, and edited in 2023.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently designing my website. As for projects, I go with the flow, so anything that comes up will likely appear on my social media over time.
