Sonderlab recently expanded their online retail company to launch an in-house product line. Focusing on bespoke essentials, the line was created together with newly-appointed creative directors Sean Loh and Sheila Agatha, the designer duo behind Indonesian brand Sean and Sheila. The debut collection, ‘Drop Zero One', blends together functionality, style, and the purpose of clothing. It is set to launch in an offline showcase at Row 9.

Sejauh Mata Memandang, an Indonesian brand committed to reintroducing slow, circular practices of heritage costumes into everyday wear, presents ‘Bumi, Masa Depan Kita’ with @genexyz.world and @wonderlab.exp. In the month-long programme, visitors can purchase new pieces from the brand in a pop-up at Grand Indonesia. The brand has also programmed sustainable fashion activities including the #WasteToWardrobe donation dropbox, the ‘Kembali Balik’ clothing repair station hosted by Milih and a reseller programme.

Pithecanthropus Bali presents ‘Roman Muka’,an embellishment and textile exhibition hosted in Masa Masa, Bali. The collection features antique accessories, kain, batik, and more gathered from across Nusantara. In line with the brand’s emphasis on conserving cultural heirlooms for younger generations, the opening of the exhibition features traditional performances from Kerta Art and a DJ set by Tandunz.


Singapore

ZERRIN at GREEN-HOUSE Festival

ZERRIN has put together a series of events at GREEN-HOUSE, a retail festival with a focus on sustainability. With four panels organised across the weekend, ZERRIN has invited local brands, activists, and creators for discussions on the topic of conscious creativity in retail and fashion. In addition, they are hosting an exclusive screening of the brand’s documentary, ‘State of Sustainable Fashion in Singapore’, where visitors can engage in a thoughtful discussion.

ICYMI: In its second iteration this year, Thailand Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2024 invited fashion practitioners and enthusiasts to Bangkok to present collections from Thai fashion designers and 16 international houses. These included Petchseeg Thai (Thailand), Steffi Lim (Indonesia) and Sharon Lee (Malaysia).

‘Art of Balance’ Collection Release

For their latest Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Gongdid Design launched semi-loungewear pieces that capture the essence of summertime. Titled ‘Art of Balance’, it presents a more delicate take on the brand’s signature pleated fabric. The collection draws inspiration from French painter Henri Matisse’s essay, ‘Notes of a Painter’, which considers the importance of a balanced life.

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) returns for its 12th edition this July. The event presents a look into the diverse practices in the current Malaysian fashion world and will unveil the finalists of the KLFW Designer Search, themed “Capturing Allure”.
