Produced by Fashion Revolution Singapore and Oxford Development Consultancy (ODC) and published on 13 April this year, this report contains over 70 pages of research, which includes consumer insights and results from market surveys that focus on purchasing preferences of Singaporean consumers. The report also looks at the sustainability of countries in the region and the pillars of governance required to accelerate sustainable and ethical fashion, in relation to the momentum of the global sustainability movement.

‘Dressed: The History of Fashion’ is a podcast series hosted by April Calahan and Cassidy Zachary. The hosts speak with filmmaker Adele Pham who made the feature documentary ‘Nailed It’, which takes a deep dive into the Vietnamese community’s power in nail salons across the United States. In this episode, they talk about the beginnings and development of Vietnamese dominance of the nail care industry.

‘#SGFASHIONNOW’

‘#SGFASHIONNOW’ is a collaborative showcase put together by Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) in collaboration with LASALLE College of the Arts and Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF) that presents contemporary Singapore fashion. An epublication at sgfashionnow.com complements the show. It features videos on the processes of the eight local labels whose works are included in the ‘#SGFASHIONNOW’ display, as well as several essays related to the Singapore fashion ecosystem.

In this recorded webinar which took place on 24 June, Vogue Business and Klarna, global shopping and payments service provider, came together to discuss the new shopping trends arising from the pandemic, and the changes in consumer preferences that will remain even in the post-pandemic environment. Marketing Editor of Vogue Business Kati Chitrakorn was joined by David Sandström, Chief Marketing Officer, Klarna, and Sabah Naqushbandi, Global Marketing Director, Mr Porter in this 45-minute discussion.

Fashion for Good is an Amsterdam-based platform that brings together the entire fashion ecosystem to innovate towards a sustainable and circular fashion industry. ‘Meet the Innovators’ is a series of online seminars that invites different frontrunners of the sustainable fashion landscape to share insights, and this year’s first edition of the programme focuses on the disruption of the traditional dyeing industry. This session sees Adriana Galijasevic speaking about opportunities and new technology for sustainable dyeing, as well as three pitches from dye-process innovators: Graviky Labs from India, t-hues from Sri Lanka and Stony Creek Colors from the United States.

Coventry University London in association with the Fashion Research Network are holding an interdisciplinary conference with experts in the fashion field, including academics and entrepreneurs, who will share their insight on various aspects of global fashion business. The two-day conference will feature five different panels, including two Fashion Industry Panels. The panels are ‘Backstage with Luxury's Take on Sustainability’ and ‘Sharing The Vision: The Evolution and Future of Influencers’, organised by students from the MSc International Fashion Marketing and MSc International Fashion Marketing with Extended Professional Practice courses at Coventry University London.
